- Medela SpecialNeeds Feeder replacement teats
- Type: teats for a specialist feeding bottle
- new condition
Medela SpecialNeeds® replacement teats (formerly Haberman) are an advanced, specialist solution created for the youngest babies who face serious challenges during traditional feeding. This unique medical device was designed for infants who, for health reasons, are unable to create the negative pressure needed to suck from a standard teat.
Who is the SpecialNeeds® system designed for?
The product provides invaluable support for newborns and infants:
- with a cleft lip and/or palate,
- with neurological disorders (e.g. low muscle tone),
- with genetic syndromes (e.g. Down syndrome),
- who are weak, premature, or recovering after surgical procedures.
Innovation based on compression, not sucking
The key to the effectiveness of the Medela SpecialNeeds® teat is its unique design. The elongated, extremely soft tip responds to the slightest pressure from the baby's gums or tongue. This allows the baby to intuitively control the milk flow without becoming tired or swallowing excessive amounts of air. The built-in slit valve prevents the baby's airways from being flooded, ensuring complete safety during every feed.
Precise adjustment and full parental control
The teat offers a unique Variable Flow function. By simply turning the bottle in the baby's mouth, you can select one of three milk flow levels. This allows the feeding pace to be perfectly matched to the infant's current strength and abilities.
Highest safety standards
The replacement teats are made from the highest-quality medical-grade silicone. This material is completely neutral in terms of taste and odour, and is free from bisphenol A (BPA) and other harmful chemicals. They are easy to keep clean and resistant to regular sterilisation.
